Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of sage-calcs.app and the calculation tools it provides (the "Service"), operated by Ingenium Synergy, LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Texas ("we", "us"). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
⚠ Engineering disclaimer — read this first
Sage Calc is a design reference aid, not a substitute for professional engineering judgment. Every result it produces must be independently reviewed, verified, and sealed by a licensed Professional Engineer before it is used for permit submission, construction, procurement, or any installed work.
Calculations are based on our interpretation of published National Electrical Code provisions and standard engineering practice. Code editions change, local jurisdictions amend them, and a calculator cannot know the conditions of your specific installation. We do not warrant that any result is accurate, complete, code-compliant in your jurisdiction, or suitable for your project. You are solely responsible for the correctness and safety of any design you produce.
Nothing in the Service creates an engineer-client relationship, and no output constitutes a sealed engineering document.
1. Accounts
Some features — saving and loading projects, exporting PDF reports, printing, and calculation history — require a free account. You agree to provide an accurate email address, to keep your credentials confidential, and to be responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Accounts are for individual use; do not share credentials.
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, and you may close your account at any time by contacting us.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute the Service or any substantial part of it;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, or attempt to derive its calculation logic, formulas, or data tables for the purpose of building or improving a competing product;
- Use automated means to scrape, harvest, or systematically extract the Service or its content;
- Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notice, including in generated reports;
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as your own;
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems;
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
3. Intellectual property
The Service — including its calculation methods, code, interface, text, graphics, and report layouts — is owned by Ingenium Synergy, LLC and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own professional or personal engineering work, subject to these Terms. No other rights are granted.
Your work remains yours. The inputs you enter and the reports you generate belong to you. We claim no ownership of them, and because calculations run in your browser, we never receive them in the first place.
References to the National Electrical Code and NEC article numbers are for identification and reference only. The NEC is published by the National Fire Protection Association, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, Sage Calc.
4. Free and paid tiers
The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce paid plans, change which features are included in each tier, or modify pricing in the future. If we do, we will describe the terms of any paid plan before you are asked to pay, and any charges will be subject to the terms presented at that time.
5. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. Because saved projects live on your own computer rather than our servers, keep your own backups of anything you need.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY CALCULATION RESULT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR COMPLIANT WITH ANY CODE, STANDARD, OR REGULATION APPLICABLE TO YOUR PROJECT.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Ingenium Synergy, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
THIS EXPRESSLY INCLUDES ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM DESIGN ERRORS, CODE VIOLATIONS, EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, CONSTRUCTION REWORK, PROJECT DELAY, PERMIT REJECTION, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE CONNECTED TO ANY CALCULATION PERFORMED USING THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ingenium Synergy, LLC and its members, officers, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party — including any claim relating to a design, installation, or document you produced with the help of the Service.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated to your account email address where reasonable. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
11. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
